Ceramic Gelli Plate ornaments without firing in a Kiln!
Top of the Saturday morning ;) I couldn't wait to try this. Last week sometime Michael's Craft Store was having a sale on their ceramic ornaments and of course my brain was racing with ideas. I finally got a few moments alone without the kids and dove right into my paints using my Gelli plate. I couldn't wait to see how it would come out. I wasn't sure at first if I wanted it to be Christmas colors or not - sooooooo I decided I wanted a more whimsical look for the first one. I used bright colors and layered several times, using stamps and a little bit of "finger painting" to make the circles. Once it dried completely I used matte medium finish to add the finishing touch to it enhance the rich colors. I topped it off with some black and white string that I had laying around . This project is really fun, fast and easy and can be a fun thing to do with the kids or some friends with a glass of wine.
